Compostela is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. It is also having a busy town center when you pass by this area as municipal hall and market place is on opposite side of the road. It is next town to Liloan going north. It is around 25 kilometers away from the City and is around 45minutes to 1 hour drive.
The Origin of the name of “Compostela”
There was story from the old folks that the name Compostela were derived from the word “Campo sa Castila” or the camp of the Spanish Guardia Civil. In the old days, Compostela was known to be a favorite hang out of the Spanish friars and it was “told” that some of them were having an affair with our local women and produced illegitimate children which a mix beautiful breed miztiso and miztisa.
