Talisay Cebu which is now a city, is the first town going south right next to Cebu City proper, in fact, if you passes through SRP (South Reclamation Project), Talisay New City Hall can be seen along the highway. It is beautifully landscaped and very well lighted during Christmas seasons.
Some accounts claim that Talisay got its name from the Magtalisay, a certain kind of trees which are endemic in area of the municipality, while others claim that Talisay got its name from a town in Spain.
